This past Saturday the NC jQuery and JavaScript Camp filled the Durham Arts Council with a sold out crowd of about 150 people.  Developers and designers from across much of North Carolina and even Virginia were in attendance for the barcamp style event featuring speakers including

Mike Taylor, Scott González, Peter Higgins, Alex Sexton, and Paul Irish.  A wide range of topics was covered including HTML 5 elements such as canvas, what’s new in jQuery UI 1.8, Dojo Toolkit, inheritance in JavaScript, jQuery performance, Modernizr, intro to regular expressions, Test Driven Development, node.js, TestSwarm, rethinking web apps, offline web applications, SQL Server Zen Garden, Rosetta, and more.  The camp, organized by Rebecca Murphey, included breakfast and lunch from Saladelia, giveaways of The jQuery Cookbook, JSMag, and Murach’s JavaScript and DOM Scripting, as well as a dose of yayQuery silliness.  Be sure to check the following links for all kinds of goodness from the camp:

Triangle JavaScript Hack Night

The JavaScript goodness continued after the camp at Viget Labs where the camp’s speakers joined Triangle JavaScript for a Hack Night of JavaScript, pizza, and ping pong.  There was a good mix of talent and a lot of great discussions and collaboration on projects.  Many thanks to Clinton Nixon for hosting!
